My association with Magic goes way back. I was born in a small African country called Swaziland, where my parents were carving a 35,000 acre sugar and citrus estate out of virgin bushland. Growing up in such a wild and remote part of the world was to influence my character and personality in many ways, but the most enduring effect that time had on me came from being immersed in the supernatural worldview of the tribes people around me. I seemed to live in an enchanted world where a host of entities and elemental forces wrestled each other for control over the fate of every living thing.

Life for me was an endless romp in the Garden of Eden, until I was eight years old, when I was packed off to a succession of Christian orientated boarding schools in the colonial education system. It was forcefully impressed on me that my free spirited nature and heathen superstitions were of no value to the socio-economic machine I was being conditioned to fit into. Ten years later I left school, cured of my innocence and wonder, and thoroughly convinced I had no choice but to find my place within the rational order of Western civilization. But my heart was never in it. I was a conscript, not a volunteer.

My first real job was working for a South African commodity trading company, where my indoctrination into the perception of capital as the prime mover behind life was sealed. In 1983 I immigrated to Australia and switched from trading physical commodities to speculating on global financial money markets. Ironically, my trading mentor in Australia was a highly successful analyst and trader given to using profoundly esoteric methods for predicting market movements. Having my eyes opened to the supernatural phenomena that held sway over these giant markets re-ignited my childhood fascination of hidden forces at play in the world.

Yet this window into the mystical nature of the universe did nothing to free me from my disillusionment with an existence that seemed designed solely to fulfil societal expectations. In quick succession I developed substance abuse problems, lost all my money, my marriage broke down, and I was diagnosed with a supposedly incurable life threatening illness. With my life at rock bottom, my attention turned from merely observing phenomenon at work outside of myself to seeking ways in which I could practically apply magic to create what I truly wanted: a life rich in health, wealth, love and creative expression.

This search brought me into contact with the alchemical principles of Hermetic Philosophy and the ideas of Robert Fritz, founder of Technologies For Creating. Both modalities pointed to the premise that we subconsciously create our own reality and that there is a way in which we can direct the subconscious mind to create the reality we choose. As I delved into these superbly effective principles for reconnecting with and manifesting what is truly important to the human spirit, I made the most startling discovery: that the sad story I just told you about myself was just that – a story. It all really did happen, but it was simply the unfolding of a script I myself had written. Thankfully, this was not the sum total of my revelation. I also discovered that I could make up a new story, one that reflected my true potential. Watching every area of my life rapidly healing and prospering, as I applied my new understanding, confirmed to me what I had believed as a child. Life is magic.

In 1996, inspired by the momentum of my own self-transformation, I founded a program called Living From Greatness, a personalized course dedicated to empowering participants in discovering and living their authentic nature and potential. While continuing to be involved in the LFG program, I have also worked one on one with thousands of people, coaching them in bringing their dreams into reality. My near twenty-year search to discern the essence of what it takes for people to connect with and live from their creative spirit forms the basis of my first book, The Magician's Way.

I now live in Byron Bay, Australia, where I devote my time to coaching, writing, enjoying my family, and letting life unfold by magic.

Hermetic lore has it that the architect of the first pyramids, Hermes Trismegistus, was gifted with the divine ability to channel the Universal Laws of Creativity, which he used to develop the mind-science of Alchemy, a very real and powerful model for self transformation that remains unrivalled by any other system to emerge from his time till now.

Alchemy is based on the recognition that human beings are, in essence, Pure Creative Spirit trapped in a matrix of limited assumptions – assumptions that give us the appearance of being victims of fate. And it liberates us by revealing the truth of who we are: powerful creators who created our own matrix of victimhood. Alchemy enables us to see through our circumstances and the beliefs that created them, allowing us to reclaim the unlimited potential of our pure creative nature.

Alchemists described the matrix as lead, and our Pure Creative Spirit as gold. When we discover the gold within us, all suffering and struggle fall away, and we move joyfully and effortlessly towards living our lives as an expression of our highest potential. What greater gift could there be than the means to find our own inner gold? No wonder the ancient Romans, Greeks and Egyptians deified Hermes as “Messenger of the Gods”.

If your heart dreams of shifting to a genuinely soul-inspired way of living, you have definitely come to the right place. The insights I gained in my quest to reclaim my magical birthright, which I teach in my Magician’s Way trainings and seminars, have the potential to take you further on your own journey than anything else you have ever come across.

Magician’s Way is a unique educational model based on helping you establish a foundation for sustained Freedom, Joy and Abundance. Very importantly, it is not a model developed by human personality. A very basic understanding of human nature demonstrates that people easily fit into obvious personality types: high achievers; pleasure seekers; conflict avoiders; intellectual speculators; crushed souls; do-gooders; dogmatics; and so on. A closer examination of most self-help/personal development/spiritual/ healing/wealth creating models reveals that they are the unconscious extension of given personality types.

This is not to say that these modalities do not achieve results. They may well do. But personality is born of an infantile relationship with self, others and the world. Hence anything born of personality will be infused with the unconscious rules controlling that types world-view and life experience. No matter the results, there is an endless struggle to reach a desired state of being, a perpetual separation.

Magician’s Way is based on Alchemy, a model created free of personality that connects you with your true identity. You are a magical being, and Magician’s Way trains you in a self-conscious relationship with your true nature. This is the foundation essential to consistently experiencing the Freedom, Joy and Abundance that is your birthright.

On the surface, Magician’s Way may appear to be similar to many of the manifesting modalities you have experienced. Once you learn a bit more about it, you’ll discover that it is radically different to anything you’ve encountered before. Most modalities I know of are essentially based on fixing your Limited Self, whereas Magician’s Way positions you in your Expanded, Creative Self, which is ever standing by, busting to work miracles in your life.

While the Magician’s Way curriculum covers a comprehensive range of related subjects, there are two central themes to the teachings. The first theme relates to Creating. The foundational premise of Magician’s Way is that you are a Being of Pure Creative Spirit. You are a creative machine. Whether you are aware of it or not you are busy making up experiences all the time. Hence, we start by teaching you what compels your creative nature to manifest what it does, and how you can direct it towards manifesting what you want in life. And just as importantly, to begin revealing it’s Self to you.

Please don’t be deterred by the term “structures of consciousness”. I’m simply referring to techniques you are likely already familiar with such as making choices and affirmations. Only there are ways of applying these techniques that render them ineffectual – dangerously counter-productive, even – and ways that turn them into a phenomenally creative force. It takes very little time and effort to apply these techniques functionally, and the reward – Freedom, Joy and Abundance – is huge!

You’re reading this because you aspire to live a soul-inspired life. Millions of people, if not every single person on earth, share your aspiration. Yet, for all the rituals they practice and the money they throw at it, not many of them realize their dream. That’s because, to live a soul-inspired life you have to see through the eyes of your soul.

 

Intuition is the mode of awareness we use to experience reality free of our limited personality. Not surprisingly, then, it is the theme we explore most thoroughly at Magician’s Way. Typically, intuitive and psychic ability are used as a manipulative tool for trying to predict the future or foretell the safest course of action. At Magician’s Way you’ll learn to use these abilities at a level the average person would consider unbelievable, though the main use you’ll put them to is dissolving the beliefs, rules and boundaries of your limited personality, and becoming aware of the resources, opportunities and energy available to your magical self. Freedom, Joy and Abundance are the product of knowing thy Whole Self and acting in accordance with your True Self. Intuition is the key.

 

Magician’s Way teachings are based on simple, self-evident truths, the efficacy of which is plainly observable. I have spent near on the last twenty years of my life studying, living and refining the philosophy of magic because it turned my life around one hundred and eighty degrees. In the mid nineteen eighties, my resume read: high school drop out, substance abuser, failed marriage, financially ruined, incurable life threatening illness. Since the early nineties I have lived a clean and sober life without any support groups or self control, overcome chronic illness, created a beautiful family with my soul mate of fifteen years, seen my businesses go from strength to strength, enjoyed literary success, developed my own homes and properties, travelled the world extensively, and indulged my passion in the study and application of alchemy – all in spite of my many mistakes, my academic limitations, what other people think and do, what the economy is or isn’t doing, and any other apparent determinants of success and failure. And in that whole time, I’ve only ever done what I love.
